Terms of service

Last updated 2026-10-16

These terms apply when a Shopify store (“you”) installs and uses Mailpilot, provided by Lindner Marketing AB, Knivsta, Sweden (“we”). By installing the app you accept them.

1. What the app does

Mailpilot sends marketing and service emails to your store’s customers on your behalf: automatic emails (for example welcome, abandoned checkout and thank-you emails), campaigns you create or approve, and signup forms on your store. It shows what your emails cost and the sales they led to. You authorize us to contact your customers by email for these purposes, on your instructions.

2. Your responsibilities

  • Only email people who may legally receive your emails. The app sends marketing only to customers whose Shopify consent says they subscribed, and asks for double opt-in where the law expects it, but you are responsible for how you collect consent and for any list you import.
  • Never import purchased, rented or scraped lists.
  • Keep your business name and postal address correct. They appear in every email, as the law requires.
  • Check what you approve. Drafts written by the app’s writing assistant, or by your own AI assistant connected to the app, are suggestions; nothing is sent, scheduled or made live without your approval.
  • Don’t use the app for anything illegal, misleading or harmful, or to send content you have no right to send.

3. Protecting deliverability

To protect your sender reputation and that of everyone else on our sending service, the app automatically stops emailing addresses that bounce or complain, limits how many emails a new sending domain sends while it warms up, and can pause campaigns when bounces or spam complaints pass safe limits. When that happens we tell you why and what to do. We may suspend sending for a store that keeps breaking these terms, after telling you the reason, except where we must act at once to stop harm.

4. Price and billing

The app has a monthly fee, billed by Shopify, with a free trial when one is offered. The free trial covers the monthly fee only: emails are paid from the balance from the first day. Emails are paid from a prepaid balance that you add to through Shopify. Each email that leaves Mailpilot takes the listed price from the balance. Emails that bounce or are reported as spam count as sent. Emails we never send (skipped, failed before sending, or only shown as an Outbox preview) cost nothing. When the balance is empty, marketing emails wait and are kept for at least 7 days; they go out once you add balance. Sign-up confirmations and messages to you keep going and never use the balance. The price never depends on how many contacts you have.

Your balance doesn’t expire while the app is installed. If you remove the app, we keep your remaining balance for 12 months and add it back if you install again. Balance is not paid out as cash, except where the law requires it. The monthly fee stops when you remove the app.

Prices today: $10 every 30 days, with the first 14 days free, and $0.15 per 1,000 emails, which is what sending them costs us. You add balance in amounts from $10 to $5,000. Shopify shows every charge for your approval before you pay it.

5. Data protection

For your customers’ personal data you are the controller and we are your processor. We process it only to provide the app, on your documented instructions (these terms and your settings); we keep it confidential, secure it as described in our privacy policy, use only the subprocessors listed there (we will tell you in the app before adding a new one, and you may object by uninstalling), help you answer your customers’ requests (Shopify’s data request and deletion requests are carried out automatically), tell you without undue delay about a personal data breach, and delete the data when you uninstall (as described in the privacy policy). You may ask for the information needed to show that we meet these duties. Transfers outside the EU/EEA use the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. Availability and changes

We work to keep the app available and your emails flowing, but we can’t promise it will never be interrupted. We may improve and change the app; we will tell you in the app before a change that takes away something you rely on.

7. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss (such as lost sales or profits), and our total liability in any 12 months is limited to the amount you paid for the app in those 12 months. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. Ending

You can stop at any time by uninstalling the app. We may end these terms with 30 days’ notice, or at once if you seriously break them.

9. Law

These terms are governed by Swedish law. Disputes go to the courts of Sweden, unless your local consumer or business law gives you another right.
